I don't know of anything you could have done any better. Great Trip.

Processing Your Catch

Processing your catch can be done at an additional cost of $100 per person. and $25 per fish box.

During the summer months the Vancouver Island weather can get be very warm. Our job is to ensure that your catch is still fresh and at the highest possible quality when you return home.

All of our fishing boats leave in the morning with insulated fish boxes full of ice. When a fish is brought aboard it is bled and put on ice immediately so it is firm and ice cold upon arrival back at the dock. You will notice the difference.

The fish are then filleted and vacuum-sealed into heavy-duty bags with our new commercial vacuum sealer. They are labelled with your information and immediately frozen, waiting to go home with you.

We have found that if your fish are not bled and placed on ice immediately they can go bad, especially during the warm BC summer months. They are definitely not as high a quality as fish that are immediately stored on lots of fresh ice.

If you have your own coolers and want to take your catch home whole, or to a processor, your fish will still be bled and stored on ice but it will not be vacuum sealed or filleted.
